Blackwork Bear Claw Afghan Set
Do you love snuggling up in your favorite quilt? This Blackwork Bear Claw Afghan Set incorporates the look of a traditional quilt with blackwork-style designs creating the fill patterns for the different fabrics. Two border styles, lacy (pictured) or picot, are provided to complete the afghan. The coordinating pillow buttons at the bottom to easily insert the pillow form.
Since two contrasting colors are used to create the designs on the different “quilt blocks”, a YouTube tutorial is also included to explain changing colors on a diagonal or curve, with a review of changing colors in a straight line.
This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as a design chart for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the design, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique. If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel! You can also read about it on my blog!
