Country Morning Set

Wake up to roosters and chickens playing around the barnyard with this filet crochet Country Morning Set including a window valance and coordinating placemats. The valance has alternating rooster and hen panels, worked from side to side, to easily customize to your window size. The rod pocket is built into the checkerboard border across the top. The filet crochet placemat has a coordinating farm scene and checkerboard border.

The valance is shown on a 56″ wide window (typically, a valance should measure about 1-1/2 times the window width to allow for some gathering).

This pattern includes both row-by-row written instructions as well as design charts for reference.

The filet crochet technique is akin to crocheting a piece of graph paper with some of the square grids filled in and some left open (or blank) to create an overall design. If you’d like to learn filet crochet, check out my YouTube tutorial: Filet Crochet: Learning the Stitches & a Few Extras!
