Azulejos Interlocking Filet Crochet Tiles

Do you love the look of Portuguese painted tin-glazed ceramic tiles … “azulejos?” Now you can incorporate them into your own interlocking filet crochet project with this Azulejos Tiles crochet pattern.

There are a total of twenty-four tiles included in this pattern set. Tiles #1 through #16 are all symmetrical from side to side. For the non-symmetrical Tiles #17 through #20, a right and left version are provided so they can be paired and rotated 180 degrees to create additional designs.

While the Azulejos Tiles can be assembled in many ways to make your own project, instructions for the Azulejos Throw, using two of each tile, are also provided to learn how to join the tiles as well as add the lacy border. What would you make with these tiles?

This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as design charts for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the designs, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique. If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel! You can also read about it on my blog!
