Blowing Wheat Filet Crochet Valance

The calming design of this filet crochet window valance, featuring wheat blowing in the wind, cascades down on each side for added dimension. The rod pocket, with lacy border across the top, is built into the design to fit a 5/8″ diameter curtain rod. Two different lengths are provided in this pattern.

This valance is shown on a 36″ wide window (typically, a valance should measure about 1-1/2 times the window width to allow for some gathering).

Materials:

  • The model was created using ecru cotton crochet thread, size 10, and a size 8 (1.50 mm) crochet hook.
  • 5/8″ diameter curtain rod to fit window width

Finished Sizes:

  • Short Valance: 18-3/4″ in the center to 27″ long on the sides
  • Long Valance: 27″ in the center to 35-1/2″ long on the sides
  • Width: 67-1/2″ with a 11-1/4″ pattern repeat to allow for customization
  • Length is measured from the top of the rod pocket
