Buttoned Gingham Filet Crochet Valance

The versatile design of this cheerful filet crochet valance can be made in any color to match your décor. Tie your favorite decorative buttons onto the the attached button tabs with 1/8″ satin ribbon to create the rod pocket.

This valance is shown on a 36″ wide window (typically, a valance should measure about 1-1/2 times the window width to allow for some gathering).

Materials:

  • The model was created using light green cotton crochet thread, size 10, and a size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook.
  • Twenty 7/8″ decorative buttons (plus one for each increase in width)
  • A spool of 1/8″ wide coordinating satin ribbon to tie on the buttons
  • 5/8″ diameter curtain rod to fit window width

Finished Size:

  • 63-1/2″ wide x 19″ long (from top of rod pocket)
  • A pattern repeat of 3-1/4″ allows adjustment in width to fit your window.
