Mix-It-Up Advent Calendars
This Mix-It-Up Advent Calendars pattern set is like a choose-your-own adventure! It includes three festive top designs, two calendar styles, and four greetings, or you can personalize your own greeting with the included lettering and blank charts!
There are step-by-step instructions for four example projects provided in this pattern set: Happy Holidays 24-Pocket Calendar, Merry Christmas 24-Pocket Calendar, Let It Snow 25-Pocket Calendar and Here Comes Santa Banner; or you can mix it up to create your own project!
Since interlocking filet crochet is made with two layers of crochet mesh that are interwoven, it’s the perfect technique to create the cute-buttoned pockets for these calendars! You can fill the pockets with small candies or ornaments, or even write personalized notes, for each day of December up to or including Christmas day!
This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as design charts for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the designs, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique.
If you haven’t tried diagonals on an interlocking filet mesh project yet, you can learn how on my YouTube Channel by watching “Interlocking Filet Mesh: From Start to Diagonals!” To learn about reading charts as well as solid stitches and long diagonals, watch “Blackwork Embroidery to Interlocking Filet Crochet!” You can also read about this technique on my blog!
