Pay-it-Forward Protest Hats
Do you need a protest hat for your next protest? The Pay-it-Forward Protest Hats pattern has six different hat bands to choose from (Resist, No Kings, We Know What We Saw, Ice Out, Melt the Ice, and Vote✓), as well as a chart-your-own option. From the hat band up, the hat has two separate layers, one of each color, with a matching pom pom on top.
This is a FREE pattern! Please pay it forward and make an extra hat for a fellow protestor, or make a donation to an organization that protects and supports marginalized communities near you.
This pattern provides both row-by-row written instructions as well as design charts for reference. Since it contains many diagonals to create the design, it is recommended for someone who is comfortable with the interlocking filet mesh technique. Materials:
- Acrylic DK weight yarn, in two colors, and size 6/0 (3.50 mm) and 7.0 (4.00 mm) crochet hooks were used for this project.
Finished Size:
- Adult – 21″ circumference
- Additional sizes can be achieved by changing the yarn and/or hook sizes.
