Baseball in July Baby Afghan Set
Let’s play ball! This July-themed baby afghan set includes the Baseball Diamond Afghan, a baseball cap sized for your newborn to 12 month old, oversized baseball and bat plushies, and a matching baseball cap for your American Girl doll. The baseball cap and baby afghan incorporate a corner-to-corner style technique to create the design. This set is seventh in a series of baby afghan sets using a hybrid of corner-to-corner and filet crochet techniques, with popcorn stitches added to enhance the design.
The American Girl baseball cap is also included in the “Year of American Girl Hats & More…” pattern set.

Materials:
- The baby afghan and baseball cap, and baseball and bat plushies were created using soft worsted weight yarn and sizes G (4.25 mm) and F (3.75 mm) crochet hooks.
- The American Girl baseball cap was created using DK weight acrylic yarn and sizes E (3.50 mm) and D (3.25 mm) crochet hooks.
Finished Sizes:
- Baseball Diamond Afghan: 43″ square
- Baseball Cap (circumference): Newborn – 12-1/2″, 6 Months – 14-3/4″, 12 Months – 17″
- Baseball Bat Plushie: 13″ long and 4-1/2″ diameter (at widest point)
- Baseball Plushie: 6″ diameter
- American Girl Baseball Cap: 12″ circumference
